Frequently Asked Questions

Picture

Do you take insurance?

Yes. We are in-network with most insurance companies. HSA (health savings account), or FSA (flex spending account) is accepted as a form of payment.

Many of our patients do not have insurance coverage. During the consultation we will go through a treatment/pricing plan for you.

We accept motor vehicle claims; we will do the billing. If you are using PIP, we need the date of the accident, claim number, insurance claims adjuster's contact information and attorney's contact information, if applicable.

Veterans can get a referral from their VA medical doctor to receive acupuncture.

We are in-network with L&I for low back pain only.

Does acupuncture hurt?

There may be a dull, achy sensation around the needle but that is a good sign that change is happening. After the needle insertion, most people find acupuncture very relaxing.

How many sessions will I need?

Some conditions take less time (4-6 weeks) to heal and chronic conditions require a longer maintenance routine to keep things running smoothly.

Each individual is unique with their own set of symptoms and health history. A consultation is the first step and we will tailor a plan just for you.

How can I prepare for my acupuncture treatment?

Please have something to eat within a few hours of coming in for your treatment. The best clothing to wear is loose clothing that can easily be rolled up if needed. If you forget to bring loose fitting clothes, a sheet can easily be used for drapery.

Why do I feel so sleepy during an acupuncture session?

Acupuncture has an effect on our central nervous system. We move into a pattern of rest (parasympathetic), allowing for healing and recovery to take place.
